The Pilbong Village Exorcism Festival acknowledges the superiority and importance of traditional culture and activates the representative farmers band music festival of Korea inscribed as UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The Pilbong Village Exorcism Festival started in 1996 in order to pay to respect to and commemorate the late Sir Yang Sun-yong, who made a significant contribution on making the Pilbong Farmers Band Music, the famous traditional exorcism in Korea.

Besides Pilbong Nongak, the Intangible Cultural Heritage, of Korea and UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage, the performances by the invited Nongak farmers bands, and the World Intangible Cultural Heritage, are presented. With fujin exorcism and fujin life (exorcism expelling old evil spirits from all visitors) as well as international exchange performances, the Pilbong Village Exorcism Festival is the representative Nongak farmers band music festival of Korea, and the leading desirable festival culture for the harmony of tourists and local residents.
