Okjeongho Lake, the mystical island

Okjeongho Lake is a giant artificial lake formed by building a multi-purpose dam on the Seomjingang River. The basin area is 763㎢ and the reservoir area is 26.3㎢. The total reservoir capacity is 430 Million Tons. The island in the middle of the lake looks like a carp, so it has been widely promoted as Carp Island.

Wet fog rises like heat haze from the lake in the morning sunlight. Okjeongho Lake looks so beautiful, as if we can meet a Taoist hermit strolling around. In the upper region of the Seomjingang River, famous for its clean water, Okjeongho Lake presents the climax of scenery in spring and autumn when fog rises due to great temperature difference between night and day.
